TESEO (Traguardi di Eccellenza nelle Scienze mediche Esplorando le Omiche) is a multidisciplinary research project that aims at unifying basic and clinical research with patient health care. The main scope is to exploit novel technologies to improve our knowledge on diseases mechanisms and translate them into clinical practice for a more personalized medicine, in a bedside-to bench-and bedside again perspective. The Department of Medical Sciences operates within the “Città della Salute e della Scienza” area in Turin, one of the major national health center, and it is at the crossroad between advanced medical research and clinical practice. Four major areas of interest characterized the Department of Medical Sciences, which are also the main cornerstones of the project: cardiac-metabolomics, medical genetics and pharmacogenomics, solid organs transplantation and oncology
